Our National Government has decided that Peterborough will be developed to incorporate several thousand new houses as part of the ‘Eastern Corridor’ strategy. A proposal that approximately 2,500 of these should be built between Werrington and Glinton has been made. There can be no doubt that this must be the subject of energetic debate. The issues do not, necessarily, relate simply to the location but equally whether Peterborough can sustain such a vast expansion and whether the infrastructure to the north of the City is adequate to support the additional inflow of traffic that will result. |
Considerable development has already taken place in South Lincolnshire and much of the new populous is seeking employment in our City. |
