Werrington Area Forum and Steering Group

What is a Neighbourhood Forum?

For Werrington to develop a neighbourhood plan, a Neighbourhood Forum has to be formed which is valid for 5 years. This Forum is responsible for following the Neighbourhood Plan processes. The current Forum, however, expires in January 2024 hence the need for a new Forum to be established. The Forum comprises of at least 21 people giving a true reflection of Werrington: different age groups, from different areas, ethnicity, social classes. It has to represent the old village and the new Township: residents, businesses and students.

What does a Forum Member do?

  • Be a supporter of the Werrington Neighbourhood Plan.
  • Receive the regular email updates.
  • Come to short meetings lasting no longer than 45 minutes.
  • Give views and direction about the content of the Plan especially in response to the comments raised by the consultations.
  • Approve the progress of the Plan as part of a democratic team.

There is no more commitment other than that. The future meetings are likely to be on the following evenings. But if you can’t attend some or all of the meetings, don’t let that stop you joining as you can contribute by email.
